Air Serbia will fly to Shanghai from 11 January 2025

Starting from 11 January 2025, Air Serbia will commence a direct service between Belgrade and Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG). The Serbian national airline will fly on this route twice a week during the upcoming winter season.

Flights from Belgrade to Shanghai will take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while return flights from Shanghai to Belgrade will take place on Wednesdays and Sundays. Flights between Belgrade and Shanghai will also be operated during the next summer season, which begins on 30 March 2025. Tickets are already on sale.

“On 30 September 2024 we launched scheduled flights between Belgrade and Guangzhou. This is our second destination in the People’s Republic of China, after Tianjin, which was added to our network on 9 December 2022. With the introduction of direct flights to Shanghai on 11 January 2025, along with the visa-free regime and the recently signed free trade agreement, we are contributing to the further strengthening of economic relations, business, tourism, and cultural ties between Serbia and China. We are confident that our scheduled flights between the capital of Serbia and Shanghai will facilitate faster business and tourism travel, as well as more efficient exchange of goods and services between our two traditionally friendly countries,” said Jiri Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (IATA code: PVG, ICAO code: ZSPD) is located about 30 kilometres east of downtown Shanghai. It covers 40 square kilometres along the coast in eastern Pudong and is a major air hub for East Asia. In 2023 alone, the airport served over 54 million passengers.

With the introduction of flights to Shanghai, Air Serbia will provide passengers with good connections from eastern China, via Belgrade, to Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Ljubljana, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Podgorica, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Krakow, Oslo, Bologna, Venice, Zurich, and other cities in its network.
